Quit Smoking

“Smoking kills” most of us must have definitely heard or come across this statement, whether we have seen it on the Television or whether we have read it in the Newspapers and even seen it sometimes on the roads, when there are various advertisements and hoarding displaying it. One of the questions that strike’s us is why such relevance or importance is given to this? Well the answer is simple because it’s one of the greatest causes that leads to most of the people’s death during the year.
Almost on all the cigarettes and its packing it’s mentioned about “Statutory Warning: Cigarette smoking is injurious to health” but who cares people just take these words for granted and don’t care about a damm at all. One of the main lame excuses that people smoke is that it reduces stress and helps them to overcome it but the truth is that this is just a myth. Smokers start to develop this habit when they are in the teen’s or during their youth may be to impress some good hot girls or to show their cool attitude but they themselves don’t know when they do form a habit and are unable to get out of it.
Almost all the countries of the world are suffering from this problem and so even the Govt of these countries have started taking various initiatives for their citizens in order to see that they stop smoking, like increasing the cess or the cost of the cigarettes and also restricting or prohibiting such co’s to air the advertisements on the Television. Even there is a no smoking day being declared by all the nations of the world in order to see that smoking is reduced or at least some of them stop smoking. Some countries also have no smoking zone ‘s and no smoking in public places like gardens or schools or hospitals, railway stations airport etc. Also heavy penalty and fines are imposed from these smokers if found guilty of violating such rules and regulations.
Some smokers have a very strong desire and will power to quit smoking and are able to while some smokers want to but can’t quit so. But they should not be discouraged or feel down as there are many counseling centres and also rehabilitation centres where they can come over this problem.People who smoke should realize the consequences of smoking and then try also to live a life without smoking.
