Heart diseases caused by smoking

One cannot count on his finger, that many diseases are caused by smoking tobacco.
1. Cardiovascular diseases
2. Lung diseases
3. Kidney diseases
4. Diseases related to skin
5. Diseases related to eye
6. Diseases related to respiratory tract
Majorly, the lungs are affected but we cannot hide this fact also that 20% of all deaths are due to heart diseases that are directly related to cigarette smoking.
Smoking increases heart disease risk. The nicotine is a compound which is the leading factor for causing heart disease.
1. Increases blood pressure and heart rate
2. Increases blood clotting
3. Decreased oxygen supply to the heart
4. Damaging to cells that line coronary arteries and other blood vessels.
Smoking increases cholesterol levels, which can lead to the upsurge of plaque along artery walls. This sternly constricts and in some cases cuts off entirely the flow of blood to the heart. Severe constriction caused by too much plaque in arteries can lead to heart disease while complete blockages can lead to heart attacks and even death. If the person is obese, high blood pressure, high LDL then the heart is at a risk triple time more as compared to a normal person.
Coronary Heart Disease: Coronary artery directly supplies the blood to the heart. Due to smoking the fat deposition takes place in the artery which leads to increase in blood pressure. The required oxygen does not reach to the heart which damages the cell.
Heart Attack/Myocardial Infarction: Myocardium is the middle layer of the heart. Due to presence of carbon monoxide in the smoke, the rate of oxygen binding to hemoglobin decreases and this does not satisfies the demand of oxygen to heart.
Atherosclerosis: it is the condition where the fat deposition takes place in the artery. This results in increased blood pressure. Further it causes thrombosis, where the blood clotting takes place because of which the heart has to pump more and has to work hard. Due to such stress chances of heart attack increases.
Smoking also causes respiratory disease. The diseases caused are lung cancer, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, pneumonia etc.
Due to smoking the air sacs get damaged. The air sac loses its flexibility and elasticity. The walls of the air sac get damaged. Smoking causes effect to bronchi, where the walls of bronchi get inflamed and which reduces the diameter of bronchi and that causes difficulty in breathing.
