I always rushed towards the cigarette, just because of the sheer thrill that it bestows. However, I could not realize that this momentary delight would lead me towards a lifelong tribulation. It is very difficult to quit smoking instantly. If you are an early smoker then it is my most humble request to you to leave smoking as it is truly very injurious not only to your own health but also to the health of those that are near and dear to you.
I want to quit smoking now, because this habit has made my life a living hell. I started with smoking just for the purpose of show off during my college days. I even found many like me who had to start smoking just because of their peer pressure. I wanted to look macho like other smokers and so I continued with my habit and did not ever think of quitting it. Gradually, I became extremely addicted towards it. It annoyed me a lot, if I ever missed having at least one puff of my favorite brand. Though my college days were over, the addiction of cigarette smoking always stayed with me throughout.
In the initial stages of initiating my habit, I did not feel any sort of adverse effects. But gradually, many of the tribulations started. My precious white teeth suddenly started getting yellowish. I had to compromise with my smile as it looked completely weird. Even the color of lips got darkened. However, the outer deteriorations are curable, but you have to pay a heavy price for it. Apart from the external, I also noticed various internal tribulations also. I found that my appetite has been reduced to a larger extent. Even a large part of my weight was lessened in a very short time. This is an alarming situation. I was not able to have clear bowels, due to which I had to undergo a lot of discomfort throughout the day. When I consulted my doc, he stated that the acidity content within my stomach has increased to an alarming level. She even stated that the oxygen level of my body is very low. When my heart beats were checked, she declared that they were more than that of a normal person. She even advised me to quit smoking as soon as possible. Even, she explained me the possible hazards that I would have to undergo if I do not quit smoking now.
The facts that my doc explained me just left me in a state of shock and amazement. I thenceforth decide to quit smoking and lead a smoking free life, which is without any sort of tribulation. My doc even recommended various institutions that help smokers to get rid of their addictions. I would approach one of them soon and get rid of my harmful addiction. If you want to quit smoking, you must also approach your nearby by institution that helps in getting rid of our addictions.

Smoking is an addiction. Tobacco smoke contains nicotine, a drug that is addictive and can make it very hard, but not impossible, to quit. More than 400,000 deaths in the U.S. each year are from smoking-related illnesses. Smoking greatly increases your risk for lung cancer and many other cancers. Smoking harms not just the smoker, but also family members, coworkers, and others who breathe the smoker’s cigarette smoke, called secondhand smoke. Among infants to 18 months of age, secondhand smoke is associated with as many as 300,000 cases of bronchitis and pneumonia each year.
The fact about smoking is that secondhand smoke from a parent’s cigarette increases a child’s chances for middle ear problems, causes coughing and wheezing, and worsens asthma conditions. If both parents smoke, a teenager is more than twice as likely to smoke as a young person whose parents are both nonsmokers. In households where only one parent smokes, young people are also more likely to start smoking. Pregnant women who smoke are more likely to deliver babies whose weights are too low for the babies’ good health. If all women quit smoking during pregnancy, about 4,000 new babies would not die each year.
Quitting smoking makes a difference right away-you can taste and smell food better. Your breath smells better. Your cough goes away. This happens for men and women of all ages, even those who are older. It happens for healthy people as well as those who already have a disease or condition caused by smoking. Quitting smoking cuts the risk of lung cancer, many other cancers, heart disease, stroke, other lung diseases, and other respiratory illnesses.
. Another fact about Quitting smoking is, it aves money. A pack-a-day smoker, who pays $2 per pack, can expect to save more than $700 per year. It appears that the price of cigarettes will continue to rise in coming years, as will the financial rewards of quitting.
Doctors say that the fact is that by quitting smoking one can even get good night sleep and help release tension in some other ways like meditation an exercise. Though Nicotine helps in easing one’s stress level, one in the longer run realizes that he or she has got use to cigarettes and cannot quit. There are fewer chances to get lung troubles or heart troubles if one quits smoking.
Thus quitting smoking is the best gift one can give to his or her body.

“Smoking kills” most of us must have definitely heard or come across this statement, whether we have seen it on the Television or whether we have read it in the Newspapers and even seen it sometimes on the roads, when there are various advertisements and hoarding displaying it. One of the questions that strike’s us is why such relevance or importance is given to this? Well the answer is simple because it’s one of the greatest causes that leads to most of the people’s death during the year.
Almost on all the cigarettes and its packing it’s mentioned about “Statutory Warning: Cigarette smoking is injurious to health” but who cares people just take these words for granted and don’t care about a damm at all. One of the main lame excuses that people smoke is that it reduces stress and helps them to overcome it but the truth is that this is just a myth. Smokers start to develop this habit when they are in the teen’s or during their youth may be to impress some good hot girls or to show their cool attitude but they themselves don’t know when they do form a habit and are unable to get out of it.
Almost all the countries of the world are suffering from this problem and so even the Govt of these countries have started taking various initiatives for their citizens in order to see that they stop smoking, like increasing the cess or the cost of the cigarettes and also restricting or prohibiting such co’s to air the advertisements on the Television. Even there is a no smoking day being declared by all the nations of the world in order to see that smoking is reduced or at least some of them stop smoking. Some countries also have no smoking zone ‘s and no smoking in public places like gardens or schools or hospitals, railway stations airport etc. Also heavy penalty and fines are imposed from these smokers if found guilty of violating such rules and regulations.
Some smokers have a very strong desire and will power to quit smoking and are able to while some smokers want to but can’t quit so. But they should not be discouraged or feel down as there are many counseling centres and also rehabilitation centres where they can come over this problem.People who smoke should realize the consequences of smoking and then try also to live a life without smoking.
